It felt like a huge weight off my shoulders like I could do anything. Before life seemed big, everything’s big and I was just being blown around like a leaf and now I get in there grab that and just control the way I’m living.
I do know that coals burn having fallen in hot smoldering coal when I was five years old.
I agreed to attend the seminar with the certainty that I was not going to do the fire walk at the end. I walked over the hot coals twice! The first time I didn’t even know what happened and the second time it was even more powerful because it was a conscious decision where as in the past I would freeze up from the fear of being burned.I have been going through a tough time in my life and though I have always been exceptional in what I do, the fire walk has been a turning point. I have learnt that breaking through any barrier is a process and there are not going to be any failures. The fire walk has allowed me to cope even better. I feel stronger and I can handle challenges because if I walked on fire then nothing worse can happen and I will be able to push through anything that is thrown at me.
This is an event I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Thank you to the amazing Coach 26 team. You have given me a true gift.
My mum passed away suddenly two years ago. When I saw an event was scheduled to take place on Mothers’ Day it meant I could experience the event as a celebration of my mum’s life. As we approached the hot coals I felt her power and energy and heard her say: “You can do this, I’m with you all the way, believe in yourself, you know you can come out on the other side – go first”- and I did. The event for me has been about stepping up and made some massive shifts for me. Nothing can be as scary as walking on fire. I can go back to that state and I can do anything now and feel the courage my mother showed me so many times. For people reading this, if you dig inside yourself you will always have the strength. Just dig inside your mind and have trust. It’s like a bank vault full of diamonds so just go and experience the fire walk – you never know what’s behind the door otherwise its just a museum!

Does Fire Walking hold the Power to unlocking your potential?
Why would you choose to walk on fire and what does the science say?
Fire has fascinated people for thousands of years. No one seems to know just how old fire walking is or where it began. The oldest recorded fire walk was over 4000 years ago in India. Romans were exempt from paying taxes if they could demonstrate the ability to walk on fire without burning. Fire walking is considered an example of the mind-body connection at work and a means of demonstrating that we do have control over our limitations. Fire walking has been practiced for centuries by Shamans, priests and ordinary folks as a Religious Ritual and healing ceremony.
“A Journey of 1000 Miles Begins With a Single Step” – Lao Tzu
In the jungle people would light fires to keep wild animals at bay. So what is it about fire that so terrifies us?
I remember when I was about 6 years old my sister placed her hands on a hot electric ring plate, even after being told by our mum to stay away. Ouch! Did that hurt…. and that was just watching my sister come up in blisters. Most people at some time have touched something hot or got minor burns from hot water, hot iron, just walking on hot tarmac on a 40 degree day. Our brain reminds us to stay away. We form a belief which is there to protect us and we should be grateful for it and the safety it provides.
When we believe something is impossible and then step through the impossible to make it possible that kind of messes with our brain and in peak, “all my bleep! I can’t believe I just did that”, all of a sudden we start questioning some of the other BS (Belief Systems) we’ve been carrying around us. One of the most common questions I get asked is, “don’t you get burned?”
Kissed by the Fire!
Fire walking has its inherent risks and like all activities that carry risk, yes you could get kissed by the fire. My personal experience has been no kisses to one or two pecks, which I didn’t even notice until the next day. I have walked on hot calls over 100 times and it’s different for everyone. Fire walking is a choice and once you decide to do it, it can be one of the most powerful moments of your life as it has been for thousands around the world.
There are many theories about fire walking including doses of critics who belittle or praise the process, however, no matter what others say, it is the meaning that we create in any situation that gives it the label. In my experience it has always been a positive inspiring experience.
Currently the most widely accepted theory on Fire walking is known as the conductivity theory.
“This form of transmission (thermal conductivity) is the most Relevant to Fire walking because It Is the Soles of the Firewalkers feet that comes in contact with the hot coals. Conduction happens when energetic molecules, the hot coals, that are vibrating collide with more sedate molecules, the Soles of the Feet, thereby transferring energy to them, but the thermal conductivity of coarse charcoal is very small and that of skin or flesh is only about four times more. By comparison the thermal conductivity of most metals is several thousand times larger, metals conduct heat well, but non-metals such as charcoal or skin do not” – David Willey – Fire walking Myths vs. Physics.
Simply put, conductivity theory states that Coals are not good conductors of heat. This means that they transfer heat slowly to other objects, and therefore will not burn human skin if the fire walker stays on the coals for a very brief period of time. While the Conductivity Theories is likely part of the answer and wood indeed is a lesser conductor of heat and metal, it is not the final answer that addresses all aspects of fire walking. In Addition, the conductivity theory does not sufficiently explain how advanced fire walkers stand on beds of Coals measuring thousand plus degrees for minutes at a Time, or world record fire walks of over 300 Feet!
